Meditation and relaxation workshops

Who we are

Harmony Days is run by three down to earth, qualified experienced meditation teachers dedicated to sharing and teaching others the positive benefits of meditation that they experience through their own practise in their daily lives.

We're all busy, and we very rarely take time to be kind to ourselves and just enjoy 'being' rather than 'doing'. My passion for Harmony Days is about helping people to see that it's possible to fit some 'being' time, even into the most hectic daily schedule!

I first started using meditation and relaxation techniques as a primary school teacher in the late 1990s. Teaching in difficult schools in West London, I initially introduced simple breathing and yoga warm-up exercises as a means to calming the class and managing difficult behaviour. My interest in, and passion for, meditation and relaxation grew over the years as I began to recognise other benefits from using these methods in the classroom. Children aren't used to sitting still and being - but when they practise it, they really enjoy it, and are able to discover that they have a place of peace and quiet inside themselves. This helps them to not only experience deep relaxation, but also to focus and concentrate, and gives them a sense of perspective. As a busy mum, I also encourage my own children to use these techniques, and have even come across them writing and practising their own meditations! In the last couple of years, I studied meditation more formally, with a view to sharing the positive benefits with adults as well as children.

Too often what could be a great day is spoilt by stress, anxiety and tension, as life races on with us feeling like we're struggling to catch up. My passion for Harmony Days is about offering simple, practical and effective meditation and relaxation techniques, as this is what I have found to be truly useful in my own life experience.

I am a busy mother of three, a qualified meditation teacher, music teacher and Reiki master. I became interested in meditation at 16 years of age when I was introduced to it as a way of helping me cope during a challenging period in my life. I then went on to begin training as a nurse, but found myself drawn towards holistic health care - dealing with the whole person, rather than seeing them as an ailment.  This led to me studying for a Bachelor of Music with my interest lying in 'music therapy in palliative care'.  After taking a break to start a family I found I was struggling with the increasing demands made upon me and my time. I returned to meditation to bring clarity, calm and balance back into my life.  I went on to study meditation more deeply, and I now teach meditation to groups, through Harmony Days, and in one-on-one sessions in my own private practice in Surrey.

Meditation and relaxation made a real difference to me in my own life, whilst I was running my own marketing services businesses. I was constantly stressed, had an over-active mind and found it difficult to sleep as a result. Little by little, I was able to take back control of my thinking, gain clarity and manage stress more effectively. Over time, I've also found these techniques invaluable in re-awakening my creativity. My enthusiasm for Harmony Days lies in using meditation to help businesses and their employees be more productive, better at making decisions, more creative and innovative, and have more fun at work!

I have run my own businesses since 2000. As well as managing the business and team, my work involved advising major corporations on product development, innovation, branding and marketing issues. I was introduced to Zazen breathing, a form of meditative breathing, in 2004 when I studied unitive coaching. My interest in meditation and relaxation grew from there, and in 2008 I qualified as a unitive coach and sold my business interests. Alongside my involvement in Harmony Days, I work as a personal and business coach using meditation and relaxation techniques as part of my coaching framework.
